Lap of Love Veterinarian: Annie Dion-Byrd"We were truly given a gift when we got Katie, "K8", as a pup. Through her 11 years with us, she was a joy. 130 lbs of Pyr that danced, stopped to smell roses, loved a hug, and hugged you back. When it came time, Dr. Annie was kind, sensitive and extremely professional. "K8" passed quietly. My final memories of her will be how gently Dr. Annie treated her. Thank-you."JOHN APPELAPOPKAOctober 1, 2014
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Brad Bates"I can't say enough about Dr. Brad and his level of compassion. Our ten year old Boxer was really struggling. After having tried to prolong the life her companion, Zeuce, our other Boxer, through extraordinary measures that ultimately only caused him pain and a diminished sense of pride, I decided never to do that again to any of my dogs. Xena had a grossly enlarged heart and had begun drinking water constantly and struggling to breathe. After understanding from our vet that Xena was having a poor quality of life and was not long for this world, we decided to put her to rest. Dr. Brad came to our home and lovingly walked us through the process with kindness and patience. He helped us understand that what we were doing was unselfish and the most compassionate thing we could do for our beloved Xena. Although, my son and I knew it was the right think to do we still struggled with the decision. Dr. Brad reassured us and lifted the guilt. Dr. Brad followed up with a phone call the very next day and offered his assistance to us should we need it. He is a wonderful, caring man and I will recommend him to any of my friends, family and clients who have to say good by to their best friend. Thank you Dr. Brad"Mary Beth HurtadoBryn MawrSeptember 30, 2014
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Mary Gardner"Dr. Mary was so wonderful for us in this traumatic time and to Rawlie. She made us feel like family and in particular Rawlie. During this time Rawlie became one of her own. She led us through this difficult moment with compassion and care. As Rawlie took his last breathe we were at peace in knowing we had made the right decision!"Tony/Kristen PhillipsAliso ViejoSeptember 30, 2014Rawlie's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: David Rousseau, DVM"I am so glad a web search led me to find Dr. David Rousseau. When Kitty was diagnosed on July 2, 2014 with osteosarcoma (that was deemed untreatable given it had already spread to his lungs and his age) I began to research home end of life options for when the time came. Kitty never liked going to the vet - it wasn't so much he minded the vet - he didn't like the half mile ride there, or the dogs in the waiting room; I didn't want the time leading up to his final moments to be stressful. Dr. David and I spoke a few weeks prior to Kitty's last day with us - and reassured me I knew the signs to look for. HIs advice of "you'd rather be a week early than a day late" in making the decision really resonated with me. 12 weeks after the diagnosis - I knew it was time and contacted him again. He is a warm, caring and compassionate man. His email and card following was such a thoughtful gesture and greatly appreciated by us. I would recommend him to anyone having to make ab end of life decision for their pet."Risa MaysSouth BostonSeptember 30, 2014Kitty Mays's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Barry Cherno, DVM"We cannot thank Lap of Love and Dr. Barry enough for being so gentle and compassionate with our sweet Wrigley We were comforted seeing (and believing) that she was so peaceful and knowing she would be in his hands as she left our home. We hope she is up there jumping and running like she was never able to do here.

We are grateful that we were able to say our goodbyes where she was most comfortable."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Eric Newhart, DVM"It took me a few days to be able to bring myself to the point where I could even manage to thank Dr, Eric for his kindness and sensitivity -- though I knew instantly that I wanted and needed to. We were so grateful for the graceful and obviously heartfelt way he handled the situation, and beyond that, we were so incredibly grateful that we didn't have to take her away from her home and bring her to some uncomfortable and frightening examining room. I'd dreaded this for a long time, not even knowing that such a service existed, and feel fortunate I was able to find it in time. The care Eric took with us and with Sally and the compassionate followup really went beyond what we expected."Thomas ShroderViennaSeptember 29, 2014
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Cindi Worrall, DVM"Thank you again Cindi for making Nikitas passing so kind and peaceful for her . Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jennifer Vencil, DVM"I can't thank you guys enough for what you did for my family's dog three years ago. We still are so thankful for the care and gentility you showed to all of us even though three years have passed. I am a college student now, but I got my little baby poodle as a New Years gift when I was in second grade and grew up with her calling her my sister (since I didn't have a human one).

My family has had it rough and we've made a lot of mistakes with one another, but I love being able to look back on the end of my dog's life knowing that we did do right by her in calling Lap of Love (she was so afraid of the vet's office, I couldn't do make her go there to pass away when she was in so much pain).

My little Gidget will always live on in my heart, and she still romps around in my soul almost daily. She still means the world to me. Lap of Love and the crematorium in Jacksonville, Fl, were excellent with the after-care of our littlest family member. We've recommended you guys to everyone we know with an animal. Thank you so much for all you did for us, and now for my cousins and friends. You changed our whole world. Really.

To Anyone Considering Lap of Love:
I cannot recommend them enough. The woman that came out to our house was so wonderful, sweet, calm, and caring even though my whole family was falling to pieces over our pet. I'm sure she would have won the heart of our little girl had she been well enough to comprehend anything around her.

Dr. Jennifer Vencil was AMAZING. She never rushed us and let us say our goodbyes in our own way, and even let my mom hold Gidget as Jennifer helped her pass on to the Bridge. Instead of putting my dog in a box, she put her in a basket and covered her up with her head sticking out like she was sleeping. She then took our baby to a wonderful crematorium that gave us so much more than what we asked for. We got locks of fur from the crematorium and a paw print cast Dr. Jennifer took of Gidget's paw. The crematorium guy was so compassionate and talked for a long time with us about how moved he was when our dog came in with all the things we had done for her, and let us know that he took special care of her for that.

We can't appreciate enough all that Lap of Love and Dr. Jennifer have done for us and so many of our friends with pets. I give them my highest marks for compassion. They are absolutely worth five stars in my book."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Diana Drogan, DVM"Dear Dr. Diana, We were so blessed to have Maggie in our family for 14+years, and we were so blessed that you were sent to help us say goodbye to her. From the first moment Maggie met you, she was so comfortable with you, wagging her tail as she lie there. Although it was such a heartbreaking day, we couldn't have wished for a more peaceful way to say goodbye to our sweet Maggie. She deserved that. We will be forever grateful to you and for being so kind, and gentle. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. xoxoxo The Dorman Family"Joann DormanHollywoodSeptember 28, 2014Maggie's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Barry Cherno, DVM"Dr. Barry was wonderful. I can’t thank him enough for his TRUE compassion for me & Bacon. It was an extremely difficult time. When he arrived we had dialogue about Bacon’s history, etc. He then examined Bacon & confirmed my decision to have Bacon put to rest. He said that this was the most loving thing I could do for him. His confirmation was very important to me. I had been struggling with it being the right time, and wondering if Bacon was suffering, which he was not at this point, thank God.

For the love of our Bacon we proceeded. He explained the procedure thoroughly and waited until I was ready. Everything went very well. I will have Dr. Barry take care of all my pets at home when the time comes.

Thank you Dr. Barry for this incredible experience!"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Katie Stender"Dr. Katie was an angel sent from heaven the day we made the hard decision to help our Xena cross over to Rainbow Bridge. It's very rare to meet someone with the compassion, love and true concern for our girl and also for us. I would never have anyone else but her to help during such a difficult time. Our hearts are heavy but we made the only choice possible. God bless you Dr.Katie"Barbara JohnsonJacksonvilleSeptember 27, 2014Xena's Pet Memorial

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Melanie Cohen, DVM"Dr. Melanie was so wonderful with our angel Mindy Lou Who. I am so grateful to her for helping us have a peaceful and loving passing for our girl.

My husband is disabled and Mindy Lou has been his constant companion for 15 years. She would always "know" when something was off or he was going into crisis without ever having been trained. I dreaded this day for a while now and could only pray we could find a way to make this easy for Mindy and her Daddy. Dr. Melanie realized that our 15 year old bulldog was such a companion to my husband and how hard it was for him and she made the experience so much easier. I will NEVER use another clinical setting again!

Dr, Melanie took time to assess and talk to us and to Mindy about how she felt and what we could expect. She was wonderful. I can never thank her enough for the kindness she showed to us and the gift she gave us of being able to say goodbye to our girl in the most considerate and loving way possible."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Cindi Worrall, DVM"Dear Cindi,
Thank you for all you have done for us. All of your thoughtful words about Cody mean so much to us. What you have done for us is such a blessing. Your time spent with us, and your attention to the details of Cody's life has been such a gift. We have already been spreading the word yesterday. There is a sense of relief (ahead of time) for the future of our other pets.
I am so so very happy to have found your service when I did. Peoples' pets are their family, and just as God has done for us, so shall he want to do the same for the ones we love. I have always believed in Rainbow Bridge. Cody has now joined our other beloved pets. And my heart feels lighter knowing that his transition was as calm and tranquil as could be.

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kara Becker, DVM"I can't say enough about Dr. Kara and the compassion and understanding that was shown to myself and my family. She made us feel very much a part of the whole process and very comfortable every step of the way. There was no rush to get the process done. Time was taken for all of us to take our time and grieve in our own way. She was so understanding for all of us. We are deeply indebted to her for giving our boy Bingo the dignity he deserved in his last moments with us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all you did for us and all you do for so many others."Gina JulianOrland HillsSeptember 25, 2014Bingo's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Brad Bates"We can't even begin to thank Dr. Brad for his attentiveness to Robin (and his obviously grieving family) in his final moments. His love of animals is obvious and his gentle and loving care of Robin showed in everything he did. I only wish my personal physicians were as half as tender and caring."Sandie WeissmanGlensideSeptember 25, 2014
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Dana Lewis"Dr. Dana was a referral from a patient of mine. The patient told me she was wonderful with her cat. Had given her a respectful, peaceful, dignified, and loving experience. I believed her - and I'm glad I did.

Dr. Dana arrived, introduced herself, walked us through the paperwork and explained the process. She was so kind to go a few extra steps for us. Making special arrangements so Moonlight and my mom and I would be more comfortable. She was very assuring, patient, organized, and understanding. I really appreciated the follow up at the end of the day. The paw prints were such a wonderful touch.

I don't think we could have asked for a better experience. My baby was taken care of in the comfort of her home with the people she loved around her.

Thank you, Dr. Dana."
