Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Dani McVety"These are the kindest group of professionals anyone could ask to work with, come into your home and be a part of this most difficult time. We loved and will always love our precious 12 year old corgi, Moe. I spoke with Dr. Dani, Lisa and Dr. Nancy and I can't begin to thank them for their kindness and gentle ways. They helped make his passing so quietly and calmly and at the same time be a comfort to us.
Thank you to all of you."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kim Simons, DVM"We knew the day was approaching when we would have to help our beloved 18 1/2 year old cat, Missy, on her journey to peace, but we didn't expect it to be on an early Saturday morning when her regular vet's office was closed. I found Lap of Love's web site and Dr. Kim Simons. Her compassion, professionalism and sincere desire to help us as well as Missy made all the difference at this extremely difficult time. The entire experience was calm and peaceful from beginning to end. Missy never felt fear or stress but only the love of her family holding her in our arms. I thank Dr. Kim for everything she did for us and our cherished Missy and only wish that all pets could have as beautiful and peaceful end to their lives. Thank you for the wonderful service you provide."Linda CBoca RatonAugust 9, 2012
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Marguerite Voorhees, DVM"After 14 1/2 years, my sweetest boy Gus was giving in to age and infirmity. I could no longer ask him to fight a losing battle. It was one of the hardest decisions I have ever made, but I knew his last moments had to be at home. Dr Voorhees was so kind and compassionate. She explained everything and went out of her way to understand my feelings, as well as Gus'. I am heartbroken without him, but know he went without pain and in peace."Susan AVeniceAugust 7, 2012
Lap of Love Veterinarian: David Rousseau, DVM"After finally making this tough decision for my 22 year old kitty Dewey, it was a blessing to have Lap of Love available and Dr. David Rousseau to help through such a tough time. It is very comforting to know Dewey’s long life ended peacefully surrounded by compassion and kindness. I know Dewey’s last breath was a sigh of relief from old age and of a life well lived. Thank you doesn’t seem adequate enough to express my appreciation, but Thank You from the bottom of my heart for making this sad time manageable."Diane SBrightonAugust 6, 2012
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Juliana Lyles, DVM"We had to say goodbye to our precious Winston this week. We could not be more grateful to Dr. Juliana Lyles for the help she gave us. Her obvious veterinary expertise and calming nature helped to put us all at ease. She gave Winston a thorough exam so that we could make an informed decision that it was, in fact, his time to go to heaven. She patiently guided us through the process and treated Winston, and us, with such kindness and dignity. We will be forever grateful to Dr. Lyles for the help she gave our family."Gail C.GlencoeAugust 3, 2012

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Michelle Bellville, DVM"Thank you Dr. Michelle for giving us the gift of allowing our Tiger to be put to sleep in his home. You eased this difficult decision by assuring us that we were doing the right thing. And you went the extra mile by letting us know you checked him twice before you left him. We are grateful for your compassion and care."Susan OOrlandoJuly 31, 2012
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Dani McVety"My experience was the same as Mike from Tampa who beautifully articulated the experience. Angel was a beautiful border collie inside and out. She gave us years of unconditional love and she will go on living in our hearts, always. She was my husband’s cherished friend until he passed away 5 years ago. Then she became mine. Now she is back with Daddy playing in the golden fields. You gave her the beautiful goodbye that she deserved Dr. Tracy...Thank You from the depths of my heart!!!!"Peggy DGulfportJuly 31, 2012
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Dani McVety"There is hardly anything more difficult than to say that last goodbye to your ailing animal companion. This decision, and the final act of love and duty that we owed our dog, Tess, was beautifully and compassionately supported by Dr. Dani McVety. That Tess's last moments were spent at home, safe and secure in our arms and in Dr. Dani's peaceful care, bestowed calm and reassuring closure on us all. It was as it should be: a painless and gentle passage to Dog Heaven for Tess, and a lifetime of happy memories to be cherished always by her human companions. Thank you, Dr. Dani McVety and Lap of Love."Mike PTampaJuly 26, 2012

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Melanie Cohen, DVM"I cannot express how thankful I am to Lap of Love and Dr. Melanie Cohen. When I spoke to Melanie on the phone for the first time, I felt like we really connected, and there was no one else I would rather have had to help with Penny's passing. Penny hated car rides and had stressful vet visits in the weeks leading up to her passing, so I knew when I found Lap of Love that I wanted her to be comfortable and in her own surroundings when the time came. Penny sat in my lap the entire time, and it was so peaceful. While I wish I could have had her for more time, her passing was all that I could have asked for. Dr. Melanie was so compassionate and sat with me, Penny, and the friends who were there with us and talked with us for a time beforehand. She really made it a beautiful experience."Melanie CohenHyattsvilleJuly 19, 2012

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Danielle Churchill, DVM"It was just yesterday around 5pm when Dr Danielle Churchill bestowed on us her very loving and kind service of helping our kitty Maddie pass on. Maddie would have been 19 in October, she was from 3 months old my 92 yr old mother's companion, with many happy years, long hours and oh so happy moments shared with our other 4 family members. Danielle was so caring, gentle, and an absolute blessing, helping us with this final good bye. Maddie up until 3 days ago, had such adorable routines, activities, and a way of communicating her desires or needs, then all of a sudden, she was first not eating then progressing to weakness, disorientation, and finally what we felt was misery. I called Lap of Love around noon and by 5pm we had Danielle finished with her kind purpose. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts."Edith, Linda, Brad, Teri, and SeanMiddleburgJune 30, 2012
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kim Simons, DVM"On July 14th, 2012, our beloved Brutus earned his wings and went to Rainbow's Bridge.. Although we know it truly was our FINAL act of LOVE to him, it was one of the most difficult tasks I have ever carried out.... I finally now can calmly (without crying) sit here and compose this testimonial to you... Dr. Kim- Thank you. We were blessed to be guided to your service by Cheryl Sikes in Pt. St. Lucie, whom I work with. She had such a wonderful experience with you when she put her Vinny to sleep. Since we met with you, I also have referred you to several people. We have opened our hearts to a new lil guy from Palm Beach Pet Rescue in North Palm Beach. Beau Actually, he rescued us when we were ready after Brutus.... Again, Thank you for ALL you do!!"Deb and Jerome SteeleLake WorthJune 29, 2012
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Juliana Lyles, DVM"Last week our beloved dog Maxx who was 15 was in lots of pain and I needed to make a very quick decision to help him. My husband has always had to take our pets to the vet for the horrible final moments. Knowing that this was going to be too hard for him I happened to think about looking online for an at home service so that I may be able to face this so that I would be able to handle it. I got Dr. Julie from lap of love in our area, she was so easy to talk to and was so helpful. She came to our home where my boy was able to lay peacefully in his comfortable yard and go to sleep. I will never do this in any other way again no matter the price, I will always be so grateful to beautiful Dr Julie for making an excruciating choice so peaceful.
Thanks so much and I hope other people find lap of love so that their pets can be home when the time comes."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Juliana Lyles, DVM"Our sweet Rottie, Cassie, was gently put to rest early this morning by the most compassionate and tender-hearted angel - Dr. Julia Lyles. From the moment she walked in the door, we felt our Cassie was in the best of hands. Dr. Lyles explained each step to us and never rushed the process, in spite of the late hour. She took the tenderest care of our girl, and Cassie went to sleep peacefully, without the trauma of a trip to the vet; in her own home, with those that loved her most at her side. Dr. Lyles arranged for absolutely everything, including the private cremation. Her young assistant Vince was also very gentle as he helped prepare Cassie for her ride to Hinsdale Animal Cemetery.

Although we feel the loss terribly, we couldn't ask for kinder more peaceful way for her to go. Your organization provides a VERY necessary service, which I will recommend to all my pet owning friends. I can't thank you enough."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Brad Bates"Dr Bates was the most kindest understanding person I have met. We found ourselves saying goodbye to our beloved Mewzette. We wanted her last day to be surrounded by the humans and dog who loved her and to go in peace. Dr Bates made that all possible. And she is waiting for us at the Rainbow bridge look for that tuna treat :o) we love you Mewzette."Mom, Dad & NilesPaulsboroJune 20, 2012
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Dani McVety"Dr. Dani helped us say goodbye to our beautiful Great Dane, Lola. As soon as she arrived she put us at ease with her kind and gentle manner, letting me know she understood and empathized with having to make this difficult decision. A huge benefit for Lola and us is that we didn't have to try and move her at a time when she was afraid, anxious and in great pain. Instead she experienced a peaceful passing surrounded by her family. This is a loving memory that I am very grateful to Dr. Dani for giving us. She made a very distressing experience as stress-free as is possible under these circumstance, taking care that Lola was gently transported and that all the details of her cremation were taken care of. Dr. Dani has found her calling in doing this very important work that clearly shows her beautiful heart."Gerry ATampaJune 14, 2012

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Ursula Dell, DVM"I'd like to thank Dr. Dell for the compassion, gentleness, love and respect she showed my dying dog Harry.
She did a great job in every way - from the hug she gave me upon entering my house, to talking us through the procedure, to the wrapping of the body so I could take him to be cremated. (By the way, Rainbow Crossing did an outstanding job for me).
Lap of Love is a wonderful organization. I thank God that I was referred to you by Jennifer of Rainbow Crossing.
Thank you, Dr. Dell and Lap of Love, for lovingly ending my friend's suffering."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Laura Devlin Bacon, DVM DABVP"There aren't enough words to express what a godsend Dr. Laura is. Can you imagine living with a pet for 20 years, a pet who had never been outside or visited a vet..and have to bring her to a stranger who probably wanted to do tests, stress her out, and make the last day of her life her worst? I couldn't do it. Not knowing what to do, I took a chance on finding someone who was compassionate and knowledgeable. I have never felt so relieved, so fortunate, or so comforted as to find this site. My husband met Dr. Laura, as I couldn’t bear to see the end, and he told me that there is no one in the world more caring that she - from the moment she entered our home, to handling dear Snowy, our dear cat, it was a peaceful and meaningful encounter. This means the world to us, and has helped us get through this sad time in peace. We could never thank her enough."Lauren & Buz MKnoxvilleJune 8, 2012
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Dani McVety"Dr McVety made it possible for us to let go when our beloved Boxer, Dudley, was suffering from terminal lymphoma. By doing this in our home where we enjoyed every day of Dudley's short 6 year life, he was able to go for his final nap on his favorite rug in his favorite place with his favorite people. Thank you Dr. Dani McVety for being so gentle with Dudley and for helping to found Lap of Love!"Nick & Dorothy BelmonteLargoJune 7, 2012
