“There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.”
Dr. Dane floated on a cloud of kindness. He came into our home with Cinnamon’s vocal cords welcoming him and quickly won both of our pets trust. We honestly are grateful for him as he guided us through this process and also gave us some comfort with confirming that this really was the best decision as he watched Cinnamon during his visit and her personal struggles with her health. We will never forget him as he was truly a gift to us during this difficult period in our lives.
This weekend we had to say goodbye to Slater. After almost 10 years, he'd been with us through it all. The early dating days with my now husband, several moves from apartments and houses, the loss of our first ever dog Link, when we brought home another puppy Obi, and when we had our first child RJ. All of our big life milestones were with Slater by our side. When he was diagnosed with an aggressive cancer we were devasted but made the most of the time we had left. After having to say goodbye to our first dog so suddenly, we knew that since we had the time to plan Slater's last days we wanted to say goodbye to him at home. Dr. Hoffman was incredibly kind and made a very sad and hard day that much easier with her caring energy, sympathy and outstanding bedside manner. We knew Slater was in good hands and he peacefully passed in our arms.
Dr. Kitri's compassionate and gentle care ensured Sushi's final moments were peaceful—just as we hoped. Past experiences were much more difficult, but Dr. Kitri's kindness and sensitivity brought comfort to Sushi and made the process much easier for us.
When Dr. Katie arrived, Gage reacted with smile and wag of his tail. I felt he knew his time had come. He was being cheerful for a peacefully ending at the home he loved. I couldn’t have been more at peace. Katie is a gentle loving spirit, and the perfect Angel who comes to show the way. Gage was calm, happy, and ready to make the journey. Thank you Katie for being a gift from God helping Gage in his final moments. 💓
