Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Will Basinger, DVM"Dr. Basinger came to our home and without hesitation, comforted my son and I though one of the hardest days of our lives. He was nothing but kind to my family and Kenya. I would like to say thank you! Thank you for everything you did to help my family through this time. Thank you for being patient with Kenya and letting her remain in her “comfort” area of our home. You made this process bearable and I honestly do not know if I could have done it without your help."Katrina AllmanColumbia, S. CarolinaMay 21, 2019Kenya Marie Puppy's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Elyse Persico, DVM"This is our sweet Abby girl. She loved the beach. Our Abby gained her angel wings on May 20th. Dr. Elyse was so wonderful, compassionate and kind. She came to our home, showed great empathy for all of us and BEST OF ALL she loved on our Abby girl. Dr. Elyse made this emotional process so easy for us. She explained everything to us and talked us through everything. Our Abby girl went to sleep and looked serene. No bad memories.
We also had another dog named Sugar who happened to pass prior to Dr. Elyse coming. Even though she was deceased, Dr. Elyse treated Sugar with the same dignity and respect as she did for Abby. This meant a lot to our family. She took both of our babies together to the Pet Loss Center, which is what we wanted. We are so grateful for Lap of Love for sending us their Angel to gather our two Angels."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Heather Manfredi, DVM"The decision to put down such a beloved member of your family ranks up in the top 3 of hardest things in life to do. Our pup, Einstein, was one of the loves in my life. When we heard he had lymphoma we were devastated and even more devastated when we had to make that decision 3 weeks later.
I reached out to Lap of Love upon a recommendation from friend and scheduled "the day". However, I couldn't bring myself to make the call yet. They were so lovely and understanding and said no problem, to call when I was ready. I ended up calling again a day later, and they were so accommodating and came the next morning.
When Dr. Heather came out of the car I knew I was in good hands. Her entire persona was that of a caring, loving vet who truly knew how hard this decision was for us to make. She explained the process and also explained how this was the right time for us to do this based on what she saw with Einstein. And that was EXACTLY what I needed to hear and know in my heart.
During the entire process Einstein was relaxed and peaceful. He was surrounded by his loving family who held him until the end and with his last breath he knew he was loved and cherished. Dr. Heather was our angel. She never rushed us, she worked quietly with professionalism and most importantly, after he passed, not once did she treat him like a dead dog. She wrapped him in a blanket, held his head and placed him on the stretcher. She let us say our final goodbyes and when she was ready to leave with my baby, she said to me "don't worry I'll take good care of him for you" and I knew she would. I knew she would treat him with the respect and dignity of the magnificent animal and family member he had been for 12 years.
I am heartbroken my Einstein has passed, but I am forever grateful for Dr. Heather and Lap of Love for giving me the option of having his last moments be in the home with his family holding him."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Tina Olivieri, DVM"Dr. Tina was so sweet and I really felt like she cared about our Little Buddy beagle. We talked for awhile when she arrived and told her about the good times with him and she let us take our time in saying goodbye. Though this was a difficult time, Dr. Tina really made it comforting and we felt like this was the right thing to do and he was going peacefully and in our own home that he loved so much. We also received a follow up email and sympathy card after, which was so thoughtful and we really appreciated it."Barbara SLos Angeles, CaliforniaMay 21, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kara Fuchs, DVM"Dr. Kara helped us say goodbye to our wonderful dog, Pepper, from the comfort of her favorite bed. Our little Pepper was not the friendliest dog and was usually wary of strangers. Pepper loved Dr. Kara immediately. Dr. Kara's calm, serene presence was exactly what we needed during this heartbreaking time. She was patient with us and Pepper, allowing us to say goodbye at our own pace. She was very respectful of Pepper after she passed. We could not have asked for a better way to say goodbye to our little girl. Thank you for all your help."Ryan & Jessica BollingerSaint Paul, MinnesotaMay 21, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Carrie Roberts, DVM"I would like to thank Dr. Carrie for her genuine compassionate and gentle care for our beloved dog Luxx. She made his passing easy and pain free, right in his favorite spot in our living room, in my arms. Luxx was a retired police K9, and had saved many lives. He was my best friend, my protector, my heart. It was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do, and she made it bearable. The office staff were kind and compassionate as well. I would recommend this service to everyone facing this difficult decision.

I thank you all, from the bottom of my heart
Nancy Marley"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Keri Morgan, DVM, MPH"What an amazing service this is, taking a bit of sting out of one of the hardest decisions a pet parent has to make. Our guy was able to spend his last moments at home in our arms and not scared in a vet’s office and that is such a comfort to us. Dr. Morgan was compassionate times 100 and this is a service that is just so important. We are lucky to be able to prevent our pets from suffering unnecessarily at the end of their lives. This service takes that a step further. They provide a clay paw print and also handle cremation arrangements. It’s so hard losing a canine family member, nothing can take that away. But how you say goodbye matters. I am so glad we chose Lap of Love."Carly MainSt. Louis, MissouriMay 21, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Tina Olivieri, DVM"I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Tina. She felt like a part of the family the moment she came into our home to help us through one of the hardest days of our lives. Our first pet we had to say good bye in an emergency, and we knew we never wanted to do that again. So when our 13 year old boxer, Jane, started having more bad days than good, we knew we wanted to give her the gift of a stress-free and peaceful departure. Dr. Tina came into our home and just plopped down on the couch and wanted to know everything there was to know about Jane. Her personality, the way she looked when she was younger, everything. She gently talked us through all the steps she would go through during the visit and things that Jane may or may not experience. There was no rush, there were no surprises.

So many times we thought “are we doing the right thing?” and “is it really time?” and Dr. Tina was always reassuring us that we were doing the right thing for us but, most importantly, for Jane. It was an honor to have someone like Dr. Tina help us through this impossible time. Her follow up emails and sympathy cards have meant so much to me and it shows she really cares. I thought this whole experience would feel clinical and impersonal but Dr. Tina now feels like a part of the family. Thank you so much."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Elyse Persico, DVM"Mike and I would like to give our thanks to Dr. Elyse Persico for the love, patience, kindness and respect she showed all of us. Her genuine love and concern was felt from the minute she walked in the door, and Milo took to her immediately. I firmly believe he understood why she was there and was surprised when he kissed her, as Milo did not kiss strangers. I am thankful that she was the one who assisted us in saying "goodbye." Although the process was heartbreaking, Dr. Elyse helped to ease it a bit. We are comforted in knowing we did the right thing."Mike & Daymon VanellaVirginia Beach, VirginiaMay 20, 2019Milo Bovine Vanella's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kristine Campanelli, DVM"Our Katie was a very anxious, quiet to herself 14 year old Wheaton Terrier, we bought her in a puppy store and she seemed more poodle than terrier so, she was our woodle! She didn't like to go on walks or even be outside unless she had to go to the bathroom.
Always anxious she would have accidents occasionally but over the past few months she began to loose control all the time. She had lumps and bumps and struggled to get up and had difficulty standing.
We knew her time was growing short, considering her shyness and anxiety we decided to call Lap of Love to have her final moments in our home surrounding by all her comforts and of course, her family.
Dr. Kristine was so kind and warm and compassionate. We all sat on the floor in the living room talking about Katie and gently Dr. Kristine told us how Katie's last moments would be. She explained that Katie might void or vomit and we were prepared for that, luckily it didn't happen. There was no rush, only patience, quiet conversation and love.
Katie left us without pain or suffering; in her home, on her bed, with all of us stroking her, including Dr. Kristine, telling her how much we loved her and to look for our other pets and family members who would be there to meet her.
We had already clipped some hair and Dr. Kristine had a container for that and once Katie was gone she made a paw imprint for us to keep.
No one will ever look forward to a day like this but it was special, it was beautiful and so peaceful.
I cannot recommend Lap of Love enough, especially Dr. Kristine.
Here is a picture of Katie and Henry. Katie is the smaller pup behind Henry."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Amanda Page, DVM"Sadie had been in declining health, especially over the last few months. Her poor little heart had just had enough. Dialing the number to Lap of Love was one of the hardest things I've done. My call with Courtney turned out to be so surprisingly comforting. I knew our baby was going to be in good hands.

Dr. Amanda was everything we could have ever wanted to help in such a sad situation, and more. She was patient, kind, and incredibly sensitive and in-tune with how we were feeling (scared, freaked-out, sad, anxious, etc.). It was like we were having a friend over. I honestly think the Lord played a part in this. She made saying goodbye to our sweet baby girl so much easier."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jordan Taheri, DVM"Dr. Jordan was patient, kind, and compassionate. He listened to me talk about Tinkerbell, and answered my questions honestly. When she sat next to him and wagged her tail, he scratched her chest, just the way she liked. He gave my son and I several opportunities to postpone the appointment, just in case we weren't quite ready. Is anyone ever really ready to say good bye to their most beloved family member? Thank you, Dr. Jordan for making her transition a peaceful one. I'm forever grateful to this service for making this relatively stress free for my precious baby."Kelly ConnerHOLLYWOOD, FloridaMay 20, 2019Tinkerbell's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Maggie Mottram, DVM"Truly words cannot describe what Dr. Maggie did for Remy & I. She came our home, for a consultation and assessment. She waited for me to excuse myself to go to the bathroom two times while I was sick to my stomach. She reassured me that today was a good-day. Of course I said you can come back in two weeks! She was phenomenal with Remy. She gave Remy dignity and a peaceful Passover. The balcony door was open to the outside. Remy was running in and out he laid down beside me on the floor. She did it so gracefully with love and emotional support for me every second. I could never repay her in a million years. Truly an angel! Lap of Love Veterinarian: Keri Morgan, DVM, MPH"I am very grateful to Dr. Morgan for her kindness and compassion after the death of my beloved dog, Henry Aaron, from mast cell cancer.

She treated Henry with dignity and respect. She showed genuine interest in him and his story, and it was comforting to tell her about how I adopted him and came to spend 12 years of my life with him.

She allowed me to grieve and comforted me, making a difficult situation much more tolerable.

Thank you, Dr. Morgan."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sierra Hedrick, DVM"Dr. Sierra was so empathetic to our feelings and so kind, gentle, and caring towards our Jake. She explained everything to us and did not do anything until we were ready to let him go. She took that empathy a step further and not only emailed us but sent a condolences card to us. Her kind quiet voice was soothing to Jake and her professionalism was more than top notch. She came into our home that was full of people who loved Jake and she was able to do her job, as a veterinarian, in the most professional yet compassionate way possible. Thank you, Dr. Sierra. Thank you Lap of Love for having such wonderful doctors (and staff members) in your employ."Pamela and Joe FalconaPittsburgh, PennsylvaniaMay 19, 2019Jake's Pet Memorial

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Carrie Roberts, DVM"Laps of Love Veterinary Dr. Dawnetta Woodruff and Dr. Carrie Roberts. We are extremely appreciative of Dr, Dawnetta and the respect for our Chancellor at the end of his life by Dr. Carrie. Both doctors were reassuring at a time we were dealing with other issues besides our 11 almost 12 year old baby boy, a scottie. It's hard to say goodbye to family. Thank you. You were caring and professional, we recommend wholeheartedly. Sherri and Rob Meyers. ( Chancellor parents)."Sherri and Rob MeyersClayton, MissouriMay 19, 2019

We had 11 wonderful years with her and the last week was tough. Dr. Shannon was incredibly warm, understanding, and patient. I can't imagine such a difficult time being made any easier. Her compassion was a great comfort to my wife and I. Lap of Love is a wonderful organization. From the moment I called their phone number I was treated with a tenderness that was reassuring. Lap of Love Veterinarian: Rene Butler, DVM"Dr. Renee came to my house and was very warm and explained everything in a compassionate way. I've lost pets before but this was the best way. Buddy was happy being at home, in my arms and even gave a wag of the tail just before he left me. Renee was sensitive, kind and very understanding about the position I was in and took great care to tend to every emotional need.
I would highly recommend her. Without a question."
