Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kim Slade, DVM"Dr. Kim expressed true compassion & sympathy from the moment she arrived at my door. Her hugs deserve an award. She was sure that my baby was comfortable and listened and truly cared for our Lucy in her final moments. This has been a long road and we were at the end of a long battle with our girl and Dr. Kim and all involved at the Lap of Love made the decision that much easier. I can’t thank them enough for being there at a moments notice when Lucy needed them most."Melissa MillerRingwood, New JerseyFebruary 15, 2019Lucy's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Keri Morgan, DVM, MPH"We recently realized that our 15-year-old shepherd-mix, Roxy, was at the end of her life. She collapsed outdoors and could not get up. Carrying her into the house was stressful for her, and difficult for us. Our vet’s office suggested that we call Lap of Love. We called and made an appointment for the next day. Dr. Keri Morgan confirmed our assessment, and provided compassionate care to Roxy. She thoroughly explained the euthanasia procedure and described the options for cremation. She gave us time alone with Roxy and encouraged us to talk about her. It was a helpful part of the grief process. Roxy was able to stay in her home, on her own bed with her people. Thank you. Dr. Morgan."Karen EverhartWildwood, MissouriFebruary 14, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Toby Goldman, DVM"Dr. Toby was very compassionate and respectful during the very difficult time of saying goodbye for the last time to my special angel. He explained everything step by step and gave me as much time as I needed to spend the last few quality moments with Noah.
Noah was truly at peace and I am so grateful that Dr. Toby helped make this difficult process go as smoothly as possible."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kendra Healy, DVM"I loved my kitty Pink so very much. I'm sure if you're here reading this you also have a special loved one that you've recently lost or are preparing for their passing. It's a hard time. I have no words to describe the hole it leaves in your heart. Dr. Kendra responded quickly to my need to guide Pink out as he became ill and deteriorated fast. She was able to see me within just a few short hours of my call. Her love for animals and their owners is apparent in her gentle caring words and actions. It is also there in how she follows up in those dark days immediately following to make sure you are ok, and to let you know your feelings are real and to be acknowledged. I am so grateful she was the one to guide my beautiful boy out of this world. I still wonder how I'm going to get by without him, but I will. And it helps to know that if I do need someone understanding to talk to, Dr. Kendra will be here for me."Roxan WaldenWinchester, KentuckyFebruary 14, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Will Basinger, DVM"Dr. Will made this process as painless as possible both for our beloved hound Blueberry and for us. We knew that Dr. Will was a good person when Beauregard (one of our other hounds) gave Dr. Will lots of "Beau Love". Beau doesn't make friends easily but he took a liking to Dr. Will immediately.

Thank You Dr. Will."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Katie Gies, DVM"Lap of Love was just what our Rudy and family needed. We were not ready to say good-bye to Rudy and we felt like he was not ready either. Dr. Katie came to our house and spoke to us for about 2 hours. She is so kind and held our hands through the last months of our wonderful Rudy's life. She was also available through email with any questions and to help us through managing Rudy's conditions. When it was time for the very difficult discussion, she was very supportive and helped us through the last breath. As you can imagine this was a very difficult time for my family. Rudy was part of our family and my kids grew up with him. We now have a beautiful urn and a shadow box in the family room. He will always be remembered and loved. Thank you, Dr. Katie for all your wonderful help through this difficult time."Sandy RascheBlythewood, S. CarolinaFebruary 14, 2019

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jessica Boden, DVM"I didn't know when I would have to tell Sam goodbye but I knew I wanted it to be at our home surrounded by love and peace. The day before she stopped eating completely so I started look for a service. Lap of Love called me within 15 minutes of the inquiry. I did not schedule at the that time because I was hoping for a miracle overnight. It didn't come, Sam could not even stand up on her own that morning. I called to schedule an appointment as soon as she could get here. She got her early for Sam even with a tire blowout on the way. We waited and sat with Sam the entire time in our bedroom. When the sun came out and it warmed a little, we decided to take her into our backyard. Dr. Boden arrived with a few minutes. She was very professional as one would have to be in this profession but we never felt rushed or like it was just her job. She suggested things like getting a paw-print and a lock of hair which we were too upset to think of. She advised that we were making the right decision for Sam. I have lost many animals in life as well as my mother and father. None of them hurt or brought the level of sadness and emotion that I had when we said goodbye. She gave us all the time we needed and then carried Sam to her car and placed her in the front seat. Regardless of good or bad the procedure went what Dr. Boden did next will live in my heart, mind and soul forever. My entire family hurt at the level we expected but I held nothing inside. Before leaving, Dr. Boden hugged me. I cried beyond control an squeezed tighter. Her response was to squeeze back tighter and she never released until did. That moment will last in my memories and gratitude for Dr. Jessica for the rest of my life."John TerrellIrving, TexasFebruary 14, 2019Sam's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Allison Bergin, DVM"Dr. Allison was so wonderful. She was so comforting and reassuring in the tough decision we had to make. She explained everything compassionately. She took gentle care of taking our precious pup away after she passed. I would highly recommend. I hope that I do not need to do this anytime soon, but if I do, I will definitely call again, and will refer to others in need.

Thank you for your compassion."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Beth Meadow, DVM"This morning Dr. Beth helped our 16 year old cat Louie makes his final journey. She helped us with her utmost caring and gentle way. Louie had stage 2 CKD and was diagnosed with a malignant oral tumor last September. Louie was still maintaining his routine, which made the decision to let him go very difficult. He was completely relaxed and comfortable when he was given the final IV. Later in the day, I was overcome with grief and the thought that I had ended his life. Dr. Beth came by to return his collar, and she told that it was the cancer that took his life. She also told me that oral cancers metastasize late, and the pet will suffer when that happens. So, I am most grateful for Dr. Beth not only for her gentle care, but for her words which helped me accept letting my sweet boy go today."Noriko BellWASHINGTON, District of Columbia (DC)February 13, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Suzanne Cosentino, DVM"I wanted to send a long overdue thank you for your help and support during what was one of the hardest things we have ever done. Dr. Suzanne was a godsend and made what seemed like an unbearable task a bit more manageable. Her compassionate approach and kind nature helped to put us, and Stella at ease before our last goodbyes."Amy NohlPrairie Village, KansasFebruary 13, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Christina Hampton, DVM"BJ was and always be, my Best Friend. I remember bringing him home, like it was yesterday, 15 yrs. ago. He had the most beautiful eyes and sweetest personality and heart. In an instant, we loved each other to infinity. Over the years we had many conversations together. He was very much a "talker". Despite my many shortcomings, he excepted me unconditionally. He helped me through some of the darkest moments of my life. I don't think I would have made it without him. He filled my life with indescribable joy. He made me a better person. As we grew older, we took less & slower walks and more naps together. The day came that he let me know that it was time to go... as hard as it was to except, it was extremely important that he feel all of my love for him, right to the last moments of our time together. As selfish as I wanted to be, I could not allow him to suffer, or not have a good quality of life. Lap of Love allowed me to say good bye the only way I would want to. Dr. Christina was not just professional, but so very patient and caring during one of the hardest times of my life... having to let go of my boy. The process from start to finish was so very loving and respectful... everything that my boy BJ deserved. I can't thank you enough Dr. Christina <3! I am forever grateful."TerriLyn Quarterman MayeRolesville, North CarolinaFebruary 13, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jennifer Walters, DVM"Let me begin by saying that I do not use any form of social media, nor do I comment on websites. I decided to make an exception for Lap of Love because it was in reading page after page of testimonials, reading the stories being shared by other pet owners that had faced the heart wrenching decision to say their final goodbyes to their beloved animal companions, that made me pick up the phone and call on behalf of my cat, my sweet little girl of 15 years, Gizmo.

My call was received by Katie, who from the start expressed sympathy and compassion, as I fought to hold back my tears. Katie made the arrangements for the day and time I requested and gently took me through the process, explaining all the details and answering my questions.

On Gizmo's final day, there was a soft knock on my door and I greeted Dr. Jennifer Walters. This amazing woman came into my home and said and did all the right things to slightly lessen the pain of what was easily one of the most painful days of my life. My little girl's final moments were not spent in a cat carrier she hated or at the vet's office she was terrified of. Instead, her last memories were of the house she knew, surrounded by the people who loved her. As tears streamed down my face, I kissed her, whispered my final goodbye and she went to sleep in my arms.

Using her stethoscope, Dr. Walters let me know that Gizmo was beyond pain and suffering. She gently picked her up and wrapped her in the rainbow patterned blanket I wanted to bury her in. I buried her underneath the fig tree in my backyard and made a small grave marker with flowers and stones. I keep a candle burning there every night.

As of the time of this writing, it has not even been a week since I said goodbye to Gizmo. The grief and pain I'm experiencing are as intense and despairing as the pain of losing people who I have loved. It has been difficult to share this experience (I am crying as I type these words) but I do so in the hope that anyone reading this will find some comfort, as I was able to find some comfort in the stories of others.

Gizmo is in a better place and I'm glad Lap of Love was there to help her find her way. Dr. Walters, Katie and all the people of Lap of Love have my eternal gratitude.

Let me also thank all of the families and individuals who took the time to write their testimonials. By being vulnerable enough to share your pain, you gave me a little strength to bear the burden of mine.

My warmest regards,
Joseph Kellen"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kara Fuchs, DVM"I cannot say enough about how amazing Dr. Kara was throughout this very difficult experience. She was SO kind and caring and made the whole process easier. She was so compassionate with Mozart, as well as with us. She was incredibly patient and allowed us to spend all the time we needed with Mozart though the process. I had read amazing things about her, but it's hard to say enough about how great she was. This is by far the most difficult thing about having fur babies, but at the end, I wouldn't ever do this another way. She allowed our Mozart to pass over the rainbow bridge in his home, surrounded by his entire family who loves him so much. What a compassionate person! Thank you so much."Holly KutzerStillwater, MinnesotaFebruary 12, 2019Mozart's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Heather Manfredi, DVM"I am so glad we decided to call Lap of Love instead of bringing our gravely ill cat to the vet. Our experience with Dr. Heather Manfredi was wonderful - she is a kind, caring and gentle spirit who took a genuine interest in our pet. She gave us all the time we needed to say good bye, she let us cry and made us smile by encouraging us to share stories from our pet's life. I highly recommend her services."Christiane JanckeLindenhurst, NYFebruary 12, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kim Bruce, DVM, CVA"Dr. Kim was so sweet and caring during her visit. I know her job isn't easy, but I appreciated how smoothly the whole process went and how supportive she was in reassuring me that I was making the right choice for Jinx's sake."Katie LevchukDENVER, ColoradoFebruary 12, 2019Jinx's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Katie Green, DVM"Our precious little dog Chilla stressed out so much when going to her vet. So, when deciding what we would do to make her journey over the rainbow as comfortable as possible, we used Lap of Love which was recommended to us by our vet. Chilla was euthanized at home in her favorite spot, our bed with us right by her side. We knew she was close to leaving us so we made the appointment for Sunday, February 10, 2019. It was definitely the right way to let her go. The vet that came to our home, Dr. Katie, was wonderful, so warm and compassionate. I would recommend this organization to anyone who has a terminally ill pet. We miss our Chi so much!"Brigitte WoodruffFleming Island, FloridaFebruary 12, 2019
