Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Elyse Persico"Dr. Elyse Persico was amazing. She was very gentle and kind as well as thorough in explaining the process and handling our pup Rebel as well as our younger pup Gunner and including him so he can say goodbye to his dad Rebel. Rebel was 11 years older than Gunner and he taught him everything he needed to know. Rebel was an amazing Labrador who lived over 14 years. He loved the water, the woods, car rides, tennis balls and baseballs. He also loved steak and cheese. He was so obedient! He will forever be in our hearts and I know he’ll be waiting for us at the rainbow bridge. I know I wasn’t ready to let him go but I know he needed some peace and dignity left and he was ready to go be free and run completely healed. I’m thankful that we were able to do this process in our home where Rebel was comfortable and in his favorite spot to lay. I’m thankful for Lap of Love."Laura TempletonChesapeakeDecember 29, 2019Rebel's Pet Memorial

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Caroline Kiert"Yesterday, I had to put down my sweet 13 1/2-year-old kitty, Radley. To say that I was devastated is an understatement. The word that keeps coming to mind for how Dr. Caroline handled the situation--including both Radley and myself--is exquisite. She took exquisite care of both of us as Radley transitioned from his fur body to his angel body. Rather than feeling like we had invited an outsider into our home for this incredibly emotional and intimate moment, it felt like Dr. Caroline was meant to be there--like she was there to usher us through when we needed it the most. She treated Radley with love, compassion, and dignity. She let me call all of the shots according to what I knew would make Radley feel the safest and most comfortable--and, in fact, encouraged me to do so--and worked around that. She even helped Radley's sister understand that her partner in crime was gone.

I am devastated that Radley is gone. But the one thing I can feel really good about is how he went. He went peacefully and surrounded by love. He got to leave this earth from the safety of his own home, surrounded by familiar sounds, faces, and noises. And, for that, I will always be grateful.

It's also worth mentioning that everyone I came into contact with on the Lap of Love team was also wonderful and accommodating. I promised myself I would keep it together when I made the call to schedule our appointment and, of course, I did not. Everyone I spoke to was so sweet, so empathetic, and allowed me to take my time processing and emoting. When I was in a pretty desperate state and had to move our appointment up from the previously scheduled time, they were accommodating, understanding, and made my life simple.

I don't think I have ever felt better about any amount of money I have ever paid to a company than I do about this. It was worth every penny and then some.

I am so grateful that Radley and I had Dr. Caroline when we needed her the most and that, at the very least, there is the solace of knowing his life ended comfortably, peacefully, and without fear."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: George Croskey"December 26th was the saddest day my husband and I have had to go through in a long time. The decision, the commitment to the decision and the final minutes of our little Bijou’s life was heartbreaking, but we cannot thank Dr. George enough for making this journey a little less painful. She was compassionate and kind and took us through the process step by step. Thank you Dr. George and Lap of Love for the opportunity of being able to say goodbye to our Bijou in the comforts of our home."Carey HoutLiberty TownshipDecember 28, 2019

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Cathy Berquist"Dr. Cathy was our angel. She shared so much love and compassion for our Roscoe. From the first phone call she helped us to know and understand the process.
There was no pressure. She allowed for grieving and long goodbyes with our baby. She was nonintrusive, patient and had a soft comforting voice. It was easy to see that this is her calling . To help with the end of life of our beloved pets. Dr. Cathy was kind and compassionate. Lap of Love was recommended to me by a colleague. I am forever grateful.
Forever grateful for Dr. Cathy, for her empathy and love at such a difficult time in our lives."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Shannon Cabell"I lost my beloved 10 year old Rottweiler Blitz on 12/15/19...he was suffering from cancer and was very weak, and I knew it was time for him to cross the Rainbow Bridge...I was not able to get him downstairs and into a car to go to a vet...I called Lap of Love and immediately was helped by compassionate and caring staff who explained the process to me, and were able to get me a visit with a veterinarian within a few hours....Dr Shannon Cabell was loving, professional and caring, and explained the whole process as she went along, and it was truly a blessing to have such wonderful people supporting me during my boy's last moments...he was able to be in his home environment with family, and we were given a paw print and a lock of his fur., as well as support materials on how to deal with loss of a pet, and they arranged the cremation and had ashes delivered right to my vet's office...everything was handled with love and care, and I would highly recommend Lap of Love to anyone with a terminally ill pet, or simply if you want your pet to spend its final moments at home surrounded by family and friends"gina shawFreeholdDecember 27, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Shannon Cabell"We could not imagine how we were going to get through that day.... and then Dr. Shannon arrived. She knew immediately what our sweet Chloe and our entire family needed from the process. The support we received before, during, and after meant the world to us. Although our hearts are broken, we know that we gave Chloe the gift of peace and are so grateful that Dr. Shannon was with us."Carrie WeissWrightstownDecember 27, 2019

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kendra Healy"We spent a couple of sad, difficult months trying to help Joonee get well. Numerous trips to the vet would provide a very small, temporary improvement in his condition, We watched our big, sweet cat get progressively weaker despite our efforts. We finally had to make that agonizing decision to do the one compassionate thing we could offer him. Dr. Healy was so kind, she took time to pet him and talk softly to him. She took time to offer words of comfort and hugs to us. I can't say enough about her or the service she provides. So much better than making them endure yet another car ride and trip to the vet. Our cat hated the vet, and this offered him a last peaceful morning at home with us. It's apparent that Dr. Kendra loves animals. It can't be an easy job going to people's homes but I am so thankful for her and the compassionate service she provides."Cara GravesMt. OlivetDecember 27, 2019Joonee's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Lori Braun"On December 8, 2019 Dr Lori Braun helped send the best dog our family has known off to doggy heaven. Samus passed on his favorite chair in our living room peacefully with those that loved him surrounding him. Dr Lori was so compassionate and helpful throughout the whole process. We will forever be greatful for her service in giving Samus the most comfortable and peaceful passing possible. Thank you Dr Lori."Chad BernhardMonmouthDecember 27, 2019
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sally Lynch"When I contacted Lap of Love, I wasn't sure when the right time to let my beloved cat companion of 17 years go. How would I know it was the right time?

The intake person was very sensitive to my uncertainty and encouraged me to fill out the assessment survey, which I found to be a valuable reality check. Although upsetting, it helped break through any denial I had that my darling kitty was really leaving this life.

When I made the appointment, Dr. Sally came right on time and was extremely warm, kind and professional. To my relief, she did not come into the house intent on euthanizing Ermengarde -- she came to examine the patient and to help me make the best and most ethical decision. She was tender and caring with my sweet old lady cat, who showed none of her usual signs of distress or reluctance at being looked over by a vet. Dr. Sally's rapport with my cat was instant and completely trusting.

After learning more about my cat's medical reality (failing organs, seizures, etc.) I decided to let her go that very day rather than let her suffer any longer. We did the procedure in my bed while I held my calm, purring girl in my arms wrapped in a little blanket. Dr. Sally was incredibly gentle and supportive through the entire process. When I felt the life go out of my cat, I sobbed and sobbed, and I appreciated that Dr. Sally quietly left the room to give me plenty of time to be with my beloved companion before we finally tucked her into a little basket to be transported away for cremation.

Dr. Sally was also very sweet to my dog and made sure that he was part of the process. I think seeing his feline friend lifeless and being able to sniff her helped him to understand that she was gone and would not be coming back. He grieved some with me but he never exhibited any agitation or anxiety looking for her.

So, while putting down my first pet was a harrowing experience, it was peaceful, calm, and actually really beautiful. I have been recommending Lap of Love to everyone. Losing an animal family member is just awful but I feel that it helped me cope so much doing it at home where my cat was most trusting, calm and comfortable."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Emily Brown"Dr. Emily is one of the kindest and compassionate people we have ever met. Lap of Love Veterinarian: Elyse Persico"This was an amazing experience for my family even though it was a very difficult one. The passing of beautiful 16-year old labrador dog, Oatmeal. At first, we didn't know what to expect when we called, but when we met Dr. Elyse she immediately made us feel at ease and calm. Then soon Dr. Elyse became part of the Boothe family. She was so loving, caring and gentle with our girl which turned this difficult experience into a very comforting time for the family. She explained everything that was going to happen on to Oatmeal step by step, which truly helped the family get through this situation. The next morning Dr. Elyse contacted us to check on everyone's well being. It hit my youngest son the hardest because Oatmeal was his dog.... his snuggler, however, he did say that Dr. Elyse made him feel so at ease throughout the experience and also knowing that Oatmeal was no longer suffering or in pain. He said that Oatmeal was probably hanging out with his grandparents in heaven and snuggling with them as she snuggled with him every night. :-)

Thank you again for your gentle touch and loving care.

The Boothe Family"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Heather Manfredi"We were very happy with the services of Lap of Love, specifically with Dr. Heather. She made a very sad, difficult day as easy as it possibly could have been. As traumatic as it was feeling to us, it was a beautiful experience as well. She made us feel like what we were doing was the right thing to do for our beloved baby Jake. She explained everything to us as it was happening and was so caring and gentle with him. Even as his brother J.J. was right in the middle of everything wondering what was going on. Our little guy went peacefully and we miss him terribly. I definitely recommend this service and doctor."Grzybowski JoAnneWantaghDecember 26, 2019
