Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jo Millard, DVM"My beloved Bear crossed the rainbow bridge Dec 10th at around 8:35 a.m. He had been diagnosed with stage 5 mesenteric lymphoma approximately 5 weeks ago. We tried chemo but it made him very sick. He was very lethargic and nauseous the day before we lost him. Took him to the ER that morning and they said his blood counts were pretty similar to earlier in the week. He did not respond to the iv zofran and around 8 p.m. he jumped into our bed and fell asleep. I knew we were close to the end. I called Lap of Love and spoke to Taylor who was so very wonderful. I told her what was going on and that it was time. She told me that they were unable to get a vet out there that night but would be there between 8 and 9 in the morning. I explained that we were taking him back to the ER and might have to let him go that night. She said she understood. We go to the all night ER and I just could not bring myself to have him leave this world in such a hospital like setting. They gave him a sedative and more nausea medication and we brought him home. It was a rough night but he slept in his own bed for the last time. I second guessed my decision to bring him home the entire night. When Dr. Jo arrived, I knew I had done the right thing. Her compassion was astounding. She loved on Bear and kissed him and was just right at home with him. He even wagged his tail a little. She explained the process and we were right beside him as he took his last breath. He went so very peacefully. He was in his own home, with his fur parents right by his side. I miss him so very much but I know that he had to leave. I am so blessed that Dr. Jo guided him to the rainbow bridge. I recommend this service to anyone who loves their pet and has a bond with them. I can not thank them enough for all they did for my beloved Bear."Carenjames Campbellcanton, GeorgiaDecember 12, 2018

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Katie Gies, DVM"Dr. Katie Gies with Lap of Love created an extraordinary experience for us when we said goodbye to our beloved beagle brother boys, Billy & Nathan. It was a beautiful exit from earth into heaven. Her gentleness & care made the transition much easier to bear. The opportunity to let our boys gain their angel wings at the same time due to their unbreakable bond of almost 15 years together was truly a gift. We will be forever grateful for Dr. Katie & the Lap of Love staff. 10/10 recommend."Morgan Foote & Andy DoyneColumbia, S. CarolinaDecember 11, 2018

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jessica Boden, DVM"Dr. Jessica was absolutely excellent at the difficult time of having to put our beloved Dickens to rest. Her empathy is so genuine. Her manner was perfect for the occasion.
This was our second use of their services this year and we will not hesitate to call them again when that time of need arrives (hopefully not soon).
To be able to avoid the stress of getting Dickens out of the house; to have him at home in a familiar, comfortable environment, was of utmost importance to us.
Lap of Love is perfect for this, and Dr. Jessica is perfect at making the family comfortable.
Thank you!
Rick and Carla"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Nancy Rodriguez, DVM"Having to say goodbye to our loved one was one of the hardest things we have ever had to do. Lap of Love made the process a loving and caring experience. Dr. Nancy was very compassionate and made sure our dog was comfortable and that we had time to say goodbye. The experience was much better than a vet office, as we were able to have our final moments at home, where our dog was comfortable, familiar, and loved. I would highly recommend this service, during your troubled time. RIP sweet dog, you were, and always will be loved."Erik DosAugusta, GeorgiaDecember 11, 2018

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jordy Merrifield, DVM"Saying goodbye to Tulip was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. I will miss my Tulip forever."Justin AldecoaPhoenix, ArizonaDecember 10, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Brad Bates, VMD"I wish we had known about the geriatric consultation limb of Lap of Love a long time ago. Our darling Sam, a 13 1/2 year old yellow lab, could have had months or even years that were better quality, but I guess that is water under the bridge. We did call Lap of Love for a palliative care consultation, and even in that one hour meeting a week ago, Dr. Brad came up with a dozen suggestions, both medical and otherwise, to make her days go more easily. He met us half way in our own capacity to accommodate her escalating needs, for example in a discussion about whether or not to use a cart if she became paralyzed or completely unable to use her back legs. We did not feel judged or pushed one way or another. He presented the options in a kind and thoughtful way, and was willing to offer his own experienced opinion as well, as well as tools to help us decide. In the end I think we contacted Lap of Love late in the day. She had already deteriorated quite badly. Her last days actually were better because of Dr. Brad, but we put Sam to sleep just a week after our initial consult. We could not have asked for a more gentle passing for our girl. We are still heavy with grief, but we were supported in the process and Sam was eased out of this mortal struggle with as much kindness, grace, and dignity as is possible in this world. We are deeply grateful to Dr. Brad and Lap of Love."Jo BuyskePhiladelphia, PennsylvaniaDecember 10, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Stephanie Henderson, DVM"Dr. Stephanie was kind and compassionate and showed great care for my Mimi-cat. Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kristine Campanelli, DVM"Dr. Kristine:

Alison and I would like to thank you for your services.
Although the decision to say goodbye to our Bella was a difficult one, being that this process was carried out in the comfort our own home made it easier on the entire family. The main concern was our Bella and how less stressful on her this process was. Bella will be sorely missed.

I would recommend your services to any family that adores and loves their pets.
Thank you again.

Kind Regards,
Don & Alison LePore"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jordy Merrifield, DVM"No one wants to need these services, however if you do, you will not regret calling Lap of Love. From the first phone call, they were compassionate, understanding and supportive. Dr. Jordy is wonderful!!! Her very person is calming and I really felt like she cared about how we felt and what we were going through. It, at no time, felt like she was just "doing her job". Dr. Jordy was so supportive, compassionate and caring. It made the process SO MUCH more peaceful for all of us. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!"Leah SimpsonGoodyear, ArizonaDecember 10, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Ashley Payne, DVM"We called early Sunday morning and they actually answered and were able to come out the same day. From the person that answered the phone to the doctor, it was the best experience. It exceeded my expectations. Dr. Ashley called to say she was on the way and asked how we were holding up. She was so compassionate, had the most calming demeanor and even her voice was soothing. She had us tell her about our fur baby and what he was like. It helped distract us and reflect on him and his life. She made sure we knew what to expect and everything she said was ideal. I feel like our fur baby was treated with love, respect and genuine care. What a blessing this was. The paw print and lock of hair with booklet was a nice touch along with him leaving our home wrapped in a soft blanket in a sweet basket."Yvonne DeeCumming, GeorgiaDecember 10, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sarah Clarke, DVM"Dr. Sarah Clarke was so patient with me and with Jaxson in his passing. While I was crying she immediately stepped in and handled everything very professionally with ease, and I will forever be grateful for this. This was a hard decision to make but Dr. Clarke made it easy and never judged me for my decision to put him down. If I ever have to do this again I will definitely be calling her to come back because she's worth it. Jaxson's passing was done with dignity and respect in the comfort of our home."Bridgette Williams WilliamsSpotsylvania, VirginiaDecember 10, 2018Jaxson's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jo Millard, DVM"Having to say goodbye to our sweet Belle was a day we both dreaded. It was one of the absolute worst days for us. Dr. Jo really understood this and the love we have for our sweet girl. She made this terribly sad day just a little bit easier, and helped us begin the process of helping our hearts heal. She was empathetic, compassionate, understanding, patient and kind. We are thankful that she was there for us and Belle in her final moments and will forever be grateful. Thank you Dr. Jo - we will always remember the tenderness and love you showed our family in this difficult time."Louise GomezAtlanta, GeorgiaDecember 10, 2018

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Heather Manfredi, DVM"Dr. Heather was very comforting and kind. Letting Buddy go was extremely difficult and heartbreaking. Dr. Heather transitioned Buddy over the Rainbow Bridge very gently. When Buddy was done he looked so peaceful and was out of pain. Our hearts are broken but we know he is at peace now. Thank you Dr. Heather for helping our Buddy and our Family."Linda SullivanWest Islip, NYDecember 9, 2018Buddy's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Tina Vaziri, DVM"I could never express the depth of my gratitude and respect for Lap of Love. They came into our home a stranger but quickly became family, loving our girl as much as we did. They were understanding. But more important, they were so informative. They helped us logically make the decision we knew in our hearts was the right one. I would recommend them to anyone who loves their animal as their child. Getting to say goodbye, in the comfort and peace of your home, with your animal surrounded by their humans and siblings, in their bed on their favorite blanket, cannot be more peaceful. I couldn't have asked for anything better for the sweet-girl who was my child for 15.5 years."Sam RangelPearland, TexasDecember 8, 2018Jack's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jenn Roedig, DVM"Dr. Jenn
I don't know much about you personally, but I wish you the very best out of life in every possible way. You're an amazing human, filled with compassion, and love for your line of work. This would have been a million times harder with you doing what you do. You treated everyone there last night as if they were friends and family, and you did it at a pace we were all comfortable with. Thank you so much, it was a honor to have you in our home, and to comfort my best friend in his time of need."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Tina Olivieri, DVM"Dr. Tina was recommended by a close friend who had recently lost their beautiful cat. The changes in our pup, Dempsey, were sudden and we needed to make the hardest decision of our lives. My dear friend called Lap of Love and gave them my info. When I called they already had my name and I felt it was the right fit. When Dr. Tina arrived, we were a mess. She talked us through everything and didn't make us second guess our decision. She knew it was the right thing to do to save our Dempsey from more pain. The time and care she took with us will always be a cherished memory. This is the way to say goodbye to your loved one. Let them fall asleep in your arms and talk to them until they pass. Thank you, Dr. Tina for helping us on the saddest day. Much love, Suzanne, Jeff, Maebe Cat, and much love from our goofy, loving and brave boy, Dempsey."Suzanne SladeNorth Hollywood, CaliforniaDecember 8, 2018

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Christina Howard, DVM, CVA"Dr. Christina was wonderful. Reassuring, calm, did not rush us through the process. We had our 4yo with us through the process and though he didn't quite understand and was maybe a bit jovial for the occasion, she didn't get frustrated or hurry us through as we explained a few times over what was happening with Seven. We were able to take so many pictures, to love on and kiss Seven as much as we needed to. It was as though she was holding out hands through it all. And she gave such a heart-felt hug afterward. We so appreciate having the opportunity to say goodbye to Seven as a family, and within our own home where he was most comfortable. Thank you for this service that you provide, it really is a blessing."Lisa LoveNewcastle, WashingtonDecember 7, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kristina Kalivoda, DVM"Saying goodbye to our 16 1/2 year old dog Xena was not easy but we knew when it was time, that Lap of Love would be who we would call to help her make the transition. You see, Xena has always had major anxiety being at the vet's office, especially in her later years, so we did not want being there to be her last memory. Dr. Kristina came out to help us say goodbye. The whole process was very calming, peaceful and filled with dignity and we can't thank Dr. Kristina and Lap of Love enough. I've said goodbye to a dog previously in a vet's office and I can tell you that saying goodbye in your home with loved ones around in this manner with a caring vet such as Dr. Kristina made the whole experience so much more tolerable than it would have been otherwise. Don't get me wrong, we are still heartbroken, but it gives us so much peace to know we helped Xena transition on our terms and the way she would have wanted it. We would highly recommend Dr. Kristina and Lap of Love when it's time to make this difficult decision."Rolling Meadows, IllinoisDecember 7, 2018
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sarah Tangeman, DVM"I had to do one of the most difficult things, put my beloved dog to sleep but Lap of Love and Dr. Sarah were great. Thank you so much Lap of Love and Dr. Sarah."Ashley MartinNorth Richland Hills, TexasDecember 7, 2018
