Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Michelle Latham"When my 15 year old cat became ill, I looked into Lap Of Love for his end-of-life care. The assistance they provide is outstanding. You can call for advice starting at 4:00 am. Dr. Latham is an angel. My precious Inky got to be home for his final good bye. No i.v. or paralytics. Just full of love and caring."Julie StarnModestoJanuary 15, 2020
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sue Mowatt"Thank you Dr. Sue for your compassionate care of us and our pet dog Barney. You were so kind and gentle with Barney and with us while we said goodbye. You kindly explained every step of the process, and then guided us in remembering special moments of our life with Barney as he quietly passed away. On the practical side, I was able to access the website and schedule an appointment for the same day when our dear Barney took an abrupt turn for the worse. We knew it was time to let him go, and Lap of Love was able to accommodate us the same day. I am grateful that I was able to provide payment information over the phone so that we would not be burdened with this aspect after his passing."Elizabeth LavertyRocklinJanuary 15, 2020

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Elyse Persico"I cannot tell you how much my family appreciated the compassion showed to us by Dr. Elyse Persico. Saying good-bye to our sweet dog, Chance, was so incredibly hard. Dr. Elyse made the absolute worst day bearable by her thoughtfulness, her compassion and the gentle way she cared for Chance in his last moments. Dr. Elyse treated Chance as if he was her own dog. She didn't rush us and took her time to listen to our thoughts and reassure us along the way. Chance had zero stress, fear or pain. I highly recommend Dr. Elyse for this very difficult time."Kim LarimerSuffolkJanuary 14, 2020

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Mandi Beckmann"Mandi and Lap of Love was exactly what we needed to say goodbye to our Olde boy Blu. He was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and we knew we only had a few weeks left with him so amongst the preparation, it was stressful to decide how we wanted him to go. We made him as comfortable as possible and found out about Lap of Love after a long Google search for vets in the area that would come to your home. From the beginning of making the appointment to the end, they were very professional and kind. 11 days after finding out about his diagnosis, we made the appointment for a Sunday morning, and by Saturday afternoon, we knew he wasn't going to want to wait that long, so we gave them a call to see if we could change the appointment, and Mandi came within the hour - no extra cost! No way would we have gotten in that quickly at a vet without a super expensive fee! She made Blu and us very comfortable the entire time which made things a lot easier. It was a very peaceful and calming experience, exactly how we wanted it to happen. Thank you to Mandi and Lap of Love for all that you did for our beautiful olde boy, Blu."Crystal StatskeyRochesterJanuary 13, 2020Blu's Pet Memorial

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jennie Brindler"Dr. Jennie was absolutely amazing. She explained every single part of the process and made sure we had all the time we needed during all phases. She made sure everything was about Baxter's comfort and us saying our goodbyes. Quite honestly, there were several times that I completely forgot Dr. Jennie was even present. Not that I want Lap of Love to increase their prices but knowing what I know now, I would easily pay 2x what we paid."Noel WilliamsDenverJanuary 13, 2020Baxter's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Ashley Payne"When our beloved 15.5 yo Cairn Terrier, Fred, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, we knew we wanted to make him as comfortable as possible for his remaining days but we also wanted to let him go with dignity and grace. We loved on our sweet boy and gave him all sorts of treats, but when he told us he was ready we called in Lap of Love.

From the minute Dr. Ashley came through the door, I could tell this was going to be the best possible experience we could have in this horrible situation for Fred as well as my husband and son. She entered gently and immediately won Fred's affection. Then she let us tell stories while we shamelessly boo-hooed. When we were ready, she explained the procedure and explained our options. As we stroked him and loved on him, she led him into a painless permanent rest while he was held by his people on his bed looking out his window. She let us have time to say a last good bye and then put him in a sweet bed wrapped in a velvet blanket to drive away. He looked like a peaceful sleeping puppy.

We miss him so much, but we feel so good that we were able to make the compassionate choice to let him go to his final sleep in such a peaceful way with the help of Dr. Ashley."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Elyse Persico"I couldn't be more grateful for the services that Dr. Elyse provided my family. Losing my ferret Lyssa was hard enough. I put off making this decision as long as I could. She sat on my floor (which I'm assuming was beyond uncomfortable) the entire time and was very sweet to my other pets who wanted her attention. I've never gone through this process before and the Dr made it so much easier. I don't think I'd be in a healthy mental state without this service provided by these Drs. The job must be incredibly hard and emotional. She treated me and my family with absolute respect even though we were emotionally drained and in our tiny cluttered apartment."Heather ThompsonHamptonJanuary 13, 2020
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Christina Hampton"Our first baby, Livy, a German Shepherd/Lab mix, the most perfect, loving, intelligent dog in the world, live a long and happy life. She was my friend, running partner, protector, and nanny to my children, and she will be missed so much. Lap of Love and Dr. Christina Hampton made the loss of our Livy as gentle and dignified as possible. I am so glad we chose in-home euthanasia so that Livy was comfortable and not scared and we were able to be with her until the very end."Jamie GrimesChapel HillJanuary 13, 2020
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Rachel Klickman"Dr. Rachel was so kind and compassionate - we felt that even in the short period of time she was with our boy that she truly cared for him and for us. I felt right away that Toki was in the best hands with her, and she was so gentle and loving throughout the whole process. I know we gave Toki the best goodbye we could have hoped for, even as difficult and impossible as it was to do so."Susan KopfReisterstownJanuary 13, 2020Toki's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Brad Bates"My husband and I cannot brag enough about this practice. From the second we called, the receptionist was extremely kind, patient, and caring. Dr. Brad came to our house the next day. There are not strong enough words to tell about this amazing doctor. My husband and I were torn on what was the best decision to make for our cat, Sprite. Dr. Brad guided us through our decision in the most kind, patient, compassionate, gentle way possible. His obvious knowledge and expertise helped us know we were making the best (and hardest) decision. Throughout every step, Dr. Brad treated our cat with love and respect. Dr. Brad is one of a kind! We will forever be grateful for how amazing he treated us and our fur baby in one of the most difficult times. Sprite's ashes also arrived in less than a week in a beautiful wooden box."Jeanine FinocchioDelancoJanuary 12, 2020
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Amy Czarnecki"We are truly at a loss for words as to how to express our immense gratitude to Dr. Amy. Our beloved 13-year old black Lab Duke struggled with severe arthritis in his back legs for the last 18 months that we treated with meds and injections until this past week. After a few days of carrying him outside, we knew the time had come. However, his pain level coupled with his 90 pound size, left us bewildered at how best to get him to our vet. Then we found Laps of Love.

We called early Friday morning and are so lucky Dr. Amy was available that morning. She put us and Duke at ease immediately. He was so comfortable and relaxed she even got a tail wag from him. She loved on him, explained everything to us, reassured us we were making the right decision and then helped him finish his journey. It was very peaceful and we are so grateful we were able to say good-bye and grieve Duke in the privacy of our home.

We are grateful to our regular vets for the care they provided Duke over the course of his life but the service Laps of Love provided in Duke's final hours, provided a level of peace and beauty we didn't think would be possible.

Dr. Amy will always hold a special place in our hearts for the care and love she provided to our family and Duke."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Melanie Santspree"Dr. Melanie was wonderful during our difficult time of end of life for our beloved Daisy. She was supportive and kind, and instinctively seemed to know where we were at emotionally and spiritually. Her heartfelt note that she mailed to us afterward was a very thoughtful touch as well. Thank you from Mark, Nancy, and Daisy."Mark ChevalierAlbanyJanuary 12, 2020

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Amanda Buerk"Amanda was very sweet respectful and patient with our day. She explained everything and took great care of Madison. I think it takes a special person to do what she does and I could tell she genuinely cared and respected what a hard time this is for the families. I wouldn’t have done it any other way and I’m so thankful that Maddie wasn’t scared and she was calm and peaceful and went to doggie heaven in my arms."Danielle DoyleOrlandoJanuary 12, 2020Madison's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Christina Hampton"Dr Christina was absolutely lovely. She greeted us warmly and was gentle with my little angel. She gave us a short summary of how the process will go and answered our questions/concerns. She had peanut butter on hand to distract my angel from the needle which was great. I was glad to see my baby happily licking away at a spoon of peanut butter. The entire process was short but Dr Christina gave us time to say goodbye before placing our angel into a little basket bedded with a small blanket. We received a small token as a memorial gift. Overall the veterinarian and Lap of Love made our farewell an easy and comforting experience for my family and most importantly my angel.

Thank You ,

Thalia"
