Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Beth Meadow, DVM"As painful as Thursday was for us, I have to give the highest praise to the folks at Lap of Love Veterinarians in Fairfax. Dr. Beth Meadow came to our house to help Ellie through her transition, and she could not have been more caring, respectful, and sympathetic. She treated Ellie like a good friend, and was so gentle in everything she did. After the doctor left, we found that she had left behind for us a plaster cast of Ellie’s paw, and a small clear container with a bit of Ellie’s fur in it from where she had to shave a small patch on her leg. Ellie’s passing was very peaceful, and, as strange as it may sound, also beautiful."Allen McBrideWoodbridge, VirginiaMarch 24, 2017Ellie Mae's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Leslie Peltier, DVM"I couldn't imagine having a more peaceful, caring, and respectful Vet join us. You made the situation a little more bearable. I didn't know what to expect in a situation like ours, but my husband and I are very pleased we chose Lap of Love for their services, and even more pleased we had you as our fur babies in home Vet. Your compassion and dignity made the situation as peaceful as it could possibly be."Columbus, OhioMarch 24, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Erin Deveau, DVM"Dr. Erin was wonderful. Paako was a member of our family for nearly 13 years. We couldn't bare the thought of losing him, even though his physical condition had deteriorated to the point that he could hardly move around. Dr. Erin immediately made us feel comfortable with our decion-making process. She was knowledgeable, compassionate and patient. She made our final moments with Paako manageable. We highly recommend Lapoflove to anyone faced with losing a furry friend. Thank you Dr. Erin."Vincent WardAlbuquerque, New MexicoMarch 23, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jordan Taheri, DVM"We cannot say thank you enough to Dr. Jordan for his compassion, caring and professionalism during our good bye to Pebbles. He was sympathetic, reassuring and offered comfort to make a most difficult time more peaceful and serene."Hollywood, FloridaMarch 23, 2017Pebbles's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jo Parr, VMD"Dr. Jo was very patient and had a calm presence. She explained every step and did a physical examination and quality of life inquiry. We also appreciated how she was dressed down not in a white lab coat just down to earth feeling."Keri RodriguezHarrisburg, PennsylvaniaMarch 23, 2017Bella Bear (princessa) Stink Wink's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Amanda Page, DVM"Lap of Love was recommended to us by our vet and friend when she could not come herself. Dr. Amanda came to our home when we suffered the decision to say goodbye to our beloved Sadie. She treated this incredibly difficult time with care and compassionate for me and my husband as well as Sadie. Sadie left us quietly and peacefully which is what we wanted for this treasured family member. We can't thank Dr. Amanda enough for her compassion. 😇"Linda WeaverBrea, CaliforniaMarch 23, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Amanda Page, DVM"Dr. Amanda got to our home right on time. I had just taken our friend Sandy out for a final walk. When Amanda got there, Sandy took to her right away. It was easy to see that she has 'a way' with animals. We shared some stories and talked about her condition. (She was 14 and had arthritis.) She did not push one way or another and we decided to put her down.

I don't know what I was expecting as I had never had to do this before but I could not believe how peacefully she passed. Dr. Amanda was not rushed and made sure that I had recovered (as much as can be expected) before she left. I could not be happier that I made the decision to use Lap of Love and have Sandy pass at home rather than a vet's office.

I am also happy that I 'got' Dr. Amanda. She was amazing and helped me through this difficult process."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Lauren Cassady, DVM"I cannot say enough wonderful things about Lap of Love. The kindness of their staff, from the very first phone call (that I cried all the way through), to the preparatory emails providing information we needed, to the visit to our home, made this very difficult process much easier. Dr. Cassady and her assistant were so gentle and kind, were tender with our grieving hearts, and incredibly gracious with our beloved Bella. They explained every step and were very compassionate. Before this experience I had no idea an in-home euthanasia option even existed, but if we ever have to put another pet down, they are the only service I will consider using. Dr. Cassady and her staff are absolutely amazing."Jenna RMarietta, GeorgiaMarch 23, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Betsy King, DVM"Betsy brought us much comfort, compassion, love and care. She was so sweet and gentle with dear Kira and has helped me through my grieving process. I am so grateful. I cannot thank her enough."Pittsboro, North CarolinaMarch 22, 2017Kira Angelina's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Dawnetta Woodruff, DVM"Thank you Dr. Dawnetta for doing what you do. You turned an awful event into a beautiful experience. You were so kind, caring and professional and made the experience so much easier to cope with. We are grateful that you helped set Yadi's spirit free. Thank you so much for such a beautiful memorial for our sweet boy. We will miss him terribly, but we did not want to see him suffer anymore. Every stage was explained to us and all of our questions were answered. We would definitely call on Dr. Dawnetta again should we need to set another pet free."Jennifer ToebeSt. Louis, MissouriMarch 22, 2017Yadi's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Rene Butler, DVM"I did not know such a hospice service would exist at YOUR HOME for our most love companions - our pets.

I am intensive care unit medical director. Life and death is a daily things for me to see in the hospital. However, I never knew that PETS can have the same treatments as us human if not better.

Dr. Renee made the experience very beautiful. I would recommend this service to anyone who loves their pets until the last moment. I dreaded the day that I may have to bring my Bella - German Sheperd- to a VET office. Thank you one of my ICU RN recommendation of Dr. Renee service, I decided to give it a trial.

Dr Renee came right on time as scheduled. She walks in and play with Bella. She makes her feel more at ease.
Then when we are ready, she injected Bella with a sedative followed by anesthetics. Bella appeared pain free and very relaxed. The whole process from start of injection to heavenly escort of Bella took less than 6 min. Bella has never appeared so much at peace and happy toward the seconds of her life.

Dr Renee did a lot more than just injection. There is a paw prints and she will help handle all cremation if requested.

i would not hesitate to use Dr Renee service again and again and again.
Please choose home euthanasia when the time comes and PETS do not ever want to leave us even in the last breath.

Best wishes to all that ever have pets !! they are our children forever."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kristina Kalivoda, DVM"Dr. Kristina made it so much easier for me to let go of Kicius. She was very warm and kind, very professional.
She took time to write beautiful eulogy about Kicius. I'm forever greatful and will never forget it.
Thank You!"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Regan Harp, DVM"Dr. Regan was the most compassion, understanding vet that we have met. He understood how hard this was for us in making the decision for Meagan. He stroked her fur after it was over. He allowed me to carry Meagan to his car. When I said to cover her paw, he did. Dr. Regan, you not only do this as a job; you do this because of your love for animals. Thank you in making it a little easier for us."Pat PettyNashville, TennesseeMarch 21, 2017Meagan's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Elizabeth Gill, DVM"For 18 years and 4 months, we loved and cared for Gizmo. He was not just a pet to us, but our child. His passing has left a huge hole in our hearts, and life will not be the same again. At the worst time ever of having to say goodbye to him, we were fortunate to have the care and compassion of Dr. Elizabeth to guide us through. Kind, compasssionate and extremely understanding, she gave us, but more importantly Gizmo, the peaceful passing he deserved, and that all dogs should receive. At home, with his mum and dad next to him. No fear, no pain, just peace. I am not sure how any of the vets from Lap of Love do what they do, but thank goodness they do. For anyone dreading this moment in life, I would highly recommend Dr. Elizabeth and Lap of Love to help you and your cherished fur baby.
Lap of Love was recommended to me by my regular vet, and I am thankful he did. Dr. Elizabeth made the worst moment in time, somewhat bearable, and gave us the memory of a peaceful passing in the home that he loved."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Suzanne Cosentino, DVM"I never imagined anything could make the decision to put my sweet kitty to sleep less painful, but Lap of Love was absolutely amazing. They took the time to call and explain everything, while being extremely kind and comforting. The day of, Suzanne was absolutely amazing. She explained everything, sat with me, talked to me, and honestly made the whole experience more manageable than I ever thought it could possibly be. I would recommend these services for anyone having to make these hard decisions because they are amazing. I feel lucky and extremely thankful for all they did for me."Christina BradleyKansas City, MissouriMarch 21, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Lisa Littlejohn, DVM"Our Sophie was 12 1/2 years old and we lost her last week! The kindness of the Lap of Love started from the first phone call with Donna, Jennifer and Brie. They were all so caring and took their time to talk and ask questions. Not sure if I have enough kind words for Dr. Lisa! She walked through the door and immediately she was like family! Kind, caring, she made our last time with Sophie as pleasant as the situation could be. Her gentleness and patience with us was outstanding. We will be recommending the Lap of Love to all our friends and family. Thanks Dr. Lisa!!!"Nancy BollesHudson, FloridaMarch 21, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Brad Bates, VMD"I would like to thank Dr. Brad from the bottom of my heart. Words can not express the kindness, compassion and professionalism Dr. Brad showed my Dad as he had to make the hard decision to put his beloved Sammi Girl to rest. I really don't think we would have been able to make this decision without the guidance and kindness from Lap of Love. Truly a God send! I can't say enough good things about Lap of Love & Dr. Brad. I would recommend them to everyone. Dr. Brad was so kind, gentle and efficient. You can tell that he truly loves animals. That really meant a lot to me & my Dad. So even though I can't put into works how grateful we are, please know how you really helped us!"Karan BeaumontCinnaminson, New JerseyMarch 21, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Dana Lewis, DVM"Dr. Dana got a kiss from Raina almost immediately, so I knew she was good people, as Raina was always very discerning with her kisses. I will forever be appreciative of the kindness and gentleness with which Dr. Dana treated both Raina and me. It was absolutely the right decision to have it done at the house and I would recommend Lap of Love to anyone. On one of the darkest days of my life, Dr. Dana made my our lives easier and I will always be thankful for that."Brianne VillanoDurham, North CarolinaMarch 20, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Amanda Page, DVM"We were referred to Lap of Love by two different people who both had wonderful praise for them, and now I know why. We loved our baby so much, and even though we could see that he was suffering we didn't know if the time was right to help him go. Dr. Amanda arrived at our house, greeted Gabe and sat right down on the floor with us. She watched Gabe, petted him, and talked to him and us, all the while evaluating his condition. She explained to us how a vet would evaluate the situation, but she did this in such a patient, kind and loving way. She sat with us, listened to us, asked us questions, and patiently took all the time we needed to come to our decision. Once we were ready, she calmly explained everything she was doing. The whole process was very peaceful and calm, despite the great sadness. Dr. Amanda was also prepared to help us with the things we had to do afterward. She really just came alongside us and supported us with her knowledge, experience and compassion. We have only had to make this decision once before, and we didn't know there was any other way than to take our doggy to the vet's office. This experience was completely different, and so much better - in our own home, with a kind, compassionate professional helping us. I would recommend Dr. Amanda and Lap of Love to everyone who is in this difficult situation."Valerie WiegmanHuntington Beach, CaliforniaMarch 20, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Shannon Skevakis, DVM"Dr. Shannon is angel sent from heaven above. She patiently waited for everyone that was running late to say goodbye to Sam. She also took the time to thoroughly explain Sam's condition, relieving the guilt that I had been experiencing. Her empathy, compassion, knowledge, understanding and patience are greatly appreciated. I will be forever grateful to her for giving Sam and I the best last day together."Sandra MillsBloomfield, New JerseyMarch 20, 2017Sammy's Pet Memorial
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Sarah Clarke, DVM"I am not sure I can find enough words to show my gratitude to Lap of Love for the work they do. Death is hard, in every form. I have witnessed unexpected death, long lingering deaths, painful death. Death is not easy, no matter how it comes, or how prepared you think you are. Yet, here are people who manage to find a way to ease the horrible pain associated with the death of a beloved pet. Dr. Sarah is truly touched by angels. You can feel that the minute she walks into your house. She helped ease the passage of our beloved dog, Merry, as he made his way over the Rainbow Bridge. She cares. Every single person you interact with when you start dealing with Lap of Love cares. You can feel it. And Dr. Sarah has opened her heart and allowed herself to care even as she is doing this difficult work that could easily make someone numb or burnt out. She has an amazing combination of professionalism, care, gentleness, intelligence, and empathy. She manages to move things along without ever making you feel pushed or rushed. Because of Dr. Sarah and Lap of Love, my baby was able to move over the Rainbow Bridge in as gentle, respectful, and loving way possible. And Dr. Sarah also managed to cradle his distraught loved ones in her capable hands as well. I can not thank Dr. Sarah or the Lap of Love staff enough."Gloria RuggeriRichmond, VirginiaMarch 20, 2017

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Erica Fry, DVM"If/when the day comes that you are faced with putting your precious boy or girl to sleep, please know that there is no better way to do it but through Lap of Love, specifically Dr. Erica. Words cannot describe how wonderful this woman is. I had to put my precious dog Nick down this Saturday, and from the minute Dr. Erica walked in the door till the minute she left was peaceful and comfortable. I didn't want to put Nick through the stress of a car ride and the vet's office so decided that doing it at home was the last offering of love I could give him, and I'm so glad I did. His passing could not have been more peaceful and Dr. Erica explained everything as we went. I also had a stray cat that I had taken in who was very sick and obviously dying, she was kind enough to help put him out of his suffering while she was there as well. Having to put one pet down is bad enough but two in one day is rougher than rough. My house (and bed) feel very empty now that my boy is gone but am so thankful I was able to give him a peaceful passing, am so thankful I found Lap of Love and especially Dr. Erica. I count it a blessing to know there are still such caring and loving people out there."Laurie LindseyFort Worth, TexasMarch 20, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jade Tenberg, DVM"Thank you Dr. Jade for showing such compassion towards my family during such a painful time. You treated Sasha with dignity and respected our wishes."Flora ColeyTampa, FloridaMarch 20, 2017
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Kristine Campanelli, DVM"Dr. Kristine was absolutely wonderful and amazing. She is kind, caring, gentle, empathetic, and compassionate. It is clear she has deep concern for the animals she helps across the Rainbow Bridge. Dr. Kristine made a terribly sad day for us a little easier. I feel so blessed to have found Lap of Love. Ashley and Jenifer were also very kind and patient-I called them 5 times in 24 hours! I love the fact that the family gets a little fur and paw print to remember our dear pets. With deepest gratitude and appreciation, Trudy Mansfield and Family"Trudy MansfieldPatchogue, NYMarch 20, 2017
