Helping Families Honor the Lives Of Those They Love
Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jennifer Walters, DVM"Yesterday, my kitty let me know it was time for him to pass on. Dr. Jennifer came to my home and was so good about helping me understand what would happen, while reassuring me that there was nothing left we could do medically except to help ease my sweet boy's suffering. She was kind and thoughtful, making a tough day so loving and peaceful. Everything about the experience was filled with compassion and kindness, as well as great tenderness. She even checked in with me the next day to see how I was and to let me know I could reach out if I needed someone to listen. I'm so grateful for Lap of Love, and for Dr. Jennifer."Christina BrandtCharlotte, North CarolinaJune 22, 2017

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Amanda Page, DVM"We had to let our precious Colby, a yellow English Lab, cross Rainbow Bridge on June 8, 2017. We're having such a hard time with this empty house...as empty nesters he was the baby. He fought cancer for 3 years and came back from it twice. However, this last time he let us know it was his time to cross.
We made the excruciating decision that all pet parents dread. We called Lap of Love,Dr. Amanda Page. We can't say enough about the kindness and compassion she showed not only Colby but us too. We sat and talked. She got to know all three of us. Never rushing, always kind and gentle.
Once he crossed she gave us all the time we needed for our final goodbyes. We gently wrapped him in his sheets and tucked in his baby that he sucked when going nighty night between his paws. He was so beautiful and at peace.....we will miss him terribly every day until we're all back together again in heaven.
Thank you Lap of Love and especially Dr. Amanda Page."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Annie Dion-Byrd, DVM"This is still so very hard on me. I let the love of my life go on June 6, 2017~ after promising her that I would when she showed me a sign. Tassy was a full chow~chow~ my 5th one and by far the best!!! We had lost her sister, Akayla, a Siberian husky 2 years earlier. Dr. Annie was so kind and tender, she understood how important Tassy was to me. There was no rush and all was so calm and peaceful. I only wish I had had Annie for Akayla. She even helped me to wrap my baby up for burial~she is next to sister out back. You people have a hard hard job, my decision to let Tassy go nearly has killed me, and I am crying rivers as I type this. I want to thank you so much for being with me and helping me to let Tassy go in a calm, peaceful way. I also want to thank the staff for caring enough to check up on me, as they all knew just how much Tassy meant to me~because you see~ Tassy was not really mine, but Gods' and he had given her to me to care for and I was judged on the way I cared for Tassy and Akayla. They both were kept in show condition and gave their lives to and for me. Again, Miss Annie, thank you so much for the love you showed Tassy and me. Sincerely, Cynthia RIP mommas' love~ run now with Akayla, run my love, run."Cynthia MetzingOrange city, FloridaJune 22, 2017

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Jo Parr, VMD"Having to euthanize a beloved pet is always a terrible experience. Even when it puts an end to pain that can no longer be staved off, it tears at the heart.
Dr. Jo Parr was kind, gentle, and caring. We sat on the floor around Pepper's bed and helped him to pass gently. When my pain has gone away and my heart has healed I will remember this as a beautiful time."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Julie Greenlaw, BVMS"I want to thank Dr. Julie Greenlaw on behalf of my wife and myself for the incredible compassion and caring in freeing our little Jack Russell Terrier, Jackie from the suffering she was going through.
Dr. Greenlaw was very patient and understanding at a time that we needed that badly. She could not have more sympathetic to our plight of having to put down our little girl to finally afford her some peace.
Although our decision was a necessary one, it was none the less an extremely painful one to let go of our puppy after a lifetime of
joy and many happy memories.
We will forever remember with fondness Dr. Greenlaw and how she did her very best to make an incredibly sad occasion tolerable.
Thank you Julie from the bottom of our hearts."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Keri Morgan, DVM, MPH"Our dearly loved Sam has gone to sleep today. Sweet dreams gorgeous boy. You were at home in your usual spot on your dog bed in the living room with your sisters Bella & Bailey & us. Dad laid with you along with Bella & Bailey until you were at peace and without pain. Dr Keri was so, so kind, understanding & caring. She explained every step along the way and asked if it was ok to move forward. Every move she made was explained. She was never in a rush, we had all the time we wanted to say good-bye. She was amazing. Sam would've loved her.
The situation is never an easy one but Dr. Keri took such wonderful care of not only Sam but the rest of us also. We are so happy that he was able to pass in his own home with his family hugging and holding him.
Dr. Keri was so wonderful and made a very bad morning somewhat brighter by taking such good care & time with our boy. She & Lap of Love were amazing. Her caring was such a comfort. Thank you Dr. Keri for helping our Sam & us make it through this hard time. We will grieve but with loving thoughts of Dr. Keri and how she helped Sam when he needed it most."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Lori Braun, DVM"Dr. Lori,

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your kindness, generosity and selflessness are unmatched. You coached my husband and I through one of the hardest days of our lives. You were warm, you explained everything. You let me cry on your shoulder. You didn't rush us or make us feel guilty. You listened to everything we had to say. You let us cry, laugh and hold her until the end. Although this was one of the worst decisions we've ever had to make, we would never take back the experience we had with you. You hold a special place in our hearts and even though it may hurt, we know someday we'll see you again. That's what people do when they love animals. They keep giving until they have nothing left or all the dogs in the world are saved. You are truly an amazing woman.
Thank you again,
The Thompsons"

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Katie Stender, DVM"It was very difficult making the decision to put my 6 year old Golden-doodle to sleep. He was diagnosed at 4 years of age with nasal osteosarcoma. At that point, I was shocked to learn young dogs could even be diagnosed with cancer. We fought hard to keep him with us as long as possible while maintaining a good quality of life. Just shy of his 7th birthday, I decided he was tired...and it was time. It was probably one of the hardest things I've been through and we all miss Buster terribly.

Dr. Katie was with us every step of the way. She truly has an incredible gift of compassion that made this process so much easier. This was our first time dealing with putting a dog to sleep and as painful as it was, I'm very happy we shared it with her and it was such a peaceful experience."

Lap of Love Veterinarian: Tina Olivieri, DVM"We met Dr. Tina two years ago when we had to say goodbye to our dear Greta Kitty. Dr. Tina was wonderful and put us at ease about the decision we made and explaining the process to us. It was a very sad occasion, but, Dr. Tina made it an easier one. We also knew that she would take good care of Greta Kitty once she was out of our care.

When it was time to say goodbye to our wonderful boy George, we knew that Dr. Tina was the right person to help us. I adopted George 14 years ago and he was the light of my life. Active, bright, hilarious, and just George. He was perfect. When George and I moved down to Southern California almost 7 years ago, he became a true beach hound and loved making new friends. In fact, it was through George that my partner and I got to know all of our neighbors. He was a unifier. A year ago, George was diagnosed with cancer and no one thought he would make it another month, let alone another 10. But, he did. He was a force to be reckoned with. The last month, however, it became obvious that the cancer was taking its toll. George became very lethargic, he was struggling more during our evening strolls, and his anxiety at night intensified. My partner and I did everything we could to keep him comfortable and took shifts to make sure someone was with him at all times, particularly at night. Eventually, no matter what we did - even taking shifts to stay up all night with him, he just could not be consoled and we so we knew it was time to seek Dr. Tina's consult to help us understand what was happening with George and why. She came to the house the following day and treated George with great care. We decided that we would take a few more days to give George the sendoff he deserved. We had a Celebrate George get-together with his friends and yesterday we gave George every one of his favorite foods and loved on him. Dr. Tina joined us at 7 yesterday evening. She made sure we were all comfortable, and explained the process yet again, and fielded yet another barrage of questions about what George would go through. She listened and answered every question again. She also watched a video we had of George at the beach with us. She was very gracious, stayed engaged, and said all the right things. And, it made us feel better. When it was time to say goodbye to George, she comforted us the entire way and made sure George felt safe. At the end, she gave us time to kiss his head for the last 1000 times and then gently placed him in a blanket. As she put him in the car, she did so with great care, and again gave us an opportunity to kiss him another 1000 times. We said goodbye. She checked in with us after she left and again today. We know we made the right decision in having her come. We know she helped George leave this world with dignity, peace, and comfort. Thank you Dr. Tina for making a very painful process less painful."
