“There is no exercise better for the heart than reaching down and lifting people up.”
When I made the incredibly difficult decision to say goodbye to my soul dog, the folks at lap of love stepped up with the utmost empathy and kindness to help him transition from his home. I had sent them an email at 2 AM and Mike called me right after 7 AM to talk to me. He stayed on the phone with me for a long time and just listened and helped me through the process without rushing me through my sobs. He was so so kind and gentle and made me feel comfortable and held a safe space for me. Dr. Katie was assigned to us and from the moment she met us, I could tell she was meant to be there. She was incredibly sweet and took the time to walk us through the whole process. She sat with my family as we swapped stories about my Fred, laughed with us and cried with us. She loved on him just as anyone else in my family would and for that I will be eternally grateful. Thank you Dr. Katie for giving Fred the gift of letting him transition surrounded by his loved ones in his favorite spot in him home. The service you provide is something that I will be extremely grateful for forever.
Words cannot adequately express how much peace we have with being able to say farewell to our cat Levi in such a dignified and personal way. Laps of Love and Dr. Sunshine were so kind and easy to deal with. Anyone we talked to at the company seemed to know exactly what we were going through and I felt like I was talking to an old friend. I don’t know the price comparison of going to the animal hospital instead but if there is any way that you can, please give the biggest gift for your fur baby and let them enter their eternal rest in the comfort of their home.
Dr Elizabeth was simply our angel sent to help me and my Gracie during a heartbreaking time when I didn’t know who to contact. A friend found ‘Lap of Love’ and I made the call and spoke to an amazing gal Leena. Such kind, sweet & compassionate staff. She made the Appt and said Dr Elizabeth would be coming to my house. I was in an emotional whirlwind of course, but Dr Elizabeth exemplified grace, peace and comfort putting me and my girl at complete ease. Any anxieties vanished for both me and my dog as she explained every move she made. You could tell Dr Elizabeth loves animals and had great empathy for all I was going through as well as what my sweet girl had been through. Top of her professional game, knowledgeable and a personable dear gal. We talked a little, mostly about Gracie and what she had been through. She answered all my questions. The transition was calm and surreally peaceful. My girl laid her head on my lap as I held her paw and she went to sleep. My girl was then gently wrapped in a soft clean blanket and shown nothing but the highest respect with every action. I felt like she was greatly honored in the way we would want our beloved fur babies to be. I knew Gracie was in good hands all the way as she left here with Dr Elizabeth. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I must say that having your dear pet cross over and get their wings in the comfort & familiarity of their own home, with their loving parent with them is the ONLY way to do this, unless you don’t have a choice. I highly recommend and regard this service as invaluable during one of the most heartbreaking things you will have to go through. I know who I will call if I ever need this assistance again, though I hope not for awhile.
Thank you Dr Davidsen for your kindness and compassion caring for our beloved boy, Ollie. I am so thankful for your services that allowed Ollie to be home with his family, in a place he was familiar and comfortable with, and getting all the love he deserved as he passed peacefully.
