Meet the veterinarians
About Dr. Rochelle Knight
I grew up in South Lake Tahoe, California, where I developed a love for the outdoors, camping, hiking, skiing, boating, and biking. From snowy winters to sunny summers, Tahoe has it all! I have always considered the Reno-Tahoe area to be my home.
I am particularly fascinated by animals. Their diversity—not only across the animal kingdom, but within a species—has always interested me. I attended college at Sonoma State University, California, where I took a particular interest in animal physiology and earned an undergraduate degree in biology with a physiology concentration. I found that veterinary medicine allowed me to pursue both of these interests, and I completed veterinary school at UC Davis, California.
During my early veterinary shadowing experiences, I discovered that I enjoy nurturing the human-animal bond. The relationship between each pet owner and their companion is unique and I enjoy being a part of and strengthening that bond.
I worked in general veterinary practice in Sparks for almost six years before transitioning to Lap of Love, and I have greatly enjoyed getting to know and serve residents of the Reno/Sparks area.
Saying goodbye to a beloved companion, especially one who has helped their owner through a trying or challenging time, is difficult. It is an honor to provide empathetic and compassionate care to both ease their grief and strengthen their unique bond in these final moments. I look forward to providing this important service in the privacy of our clients’ homes.
Outside of work, I enjoy visiting Tahoe and hiking with my husband. I also enjoy craft projects, playing video games, and building Lego models.
